CISI X Girls Who Impact

Girls Who Impact (GWI) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2024, dedicated to identifying and empowering young women’s leadership and innovation potential in business. GWI is committed to breaking down gender barriers and supporting women in achieving success in traditionally male-dominated fields such as investment banking and consulting, while advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Through career development forums, entrepreneur brand summits, and related initiatives, GWI provides young women with hands-on experience, mentorship, and access to professional networks—preparing them to become the next generation of industry leaders.

The Carnegie International Student Institute (CISI) strongly aligns with GWI’s mission and has actively supported its programs since 2024, particularly across university career forums and entrepreneur brand summits. Through resource support and strategic collaboration, CISI helps GWI create more growth-oriented platforms for international students and young women, fostering their career development and entrepreneurial aspirations. Together, the two organizations are committed to advancing women’s leadership and empowering the next generation of women to make a greater impact in the global workplace and business landscape.

CISI Special Support | GWI × Northwestern University Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) Career Development Forum

On an evening centered around questions such as “Should I join a big company?” “Should I start my own business?” and “How do I break through career bottlenecks?”, the Carnegie International Student Institute (CISI) was honored to support and participate in this career networking event co-hosted by Matchify and the Northwestern University Chinese Students and Scholars Association (NUCSSA). We believe that authentic and diverse career stories are essential to young people’s growth.

The forum brought together professionals from well-known companies such as Microsoft, Cisco, and CRA, as well as speakers with extensive experience in consulting, investment, and entrepreneurship. The atmosphere was highly engaged, with in-depth discussions throughout the evening. Participants explored topics including how to identify the career path that truly fits you, how to balance ideals with reality, and the journey from early-career professional to cross-disciplinary talent, gaining valuable insights and perspectives.
